Carbachol
Carbachol is an ammonium salt which is a synthetic choline ester with a positively charged quaternary compound. It can also be used to stimulate micturition by contraction of detrusor muscle. It plays a role as a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist, a muscarinic agonist, a cardio tonic drug and a miotic. Carbachol produces constriction in iris which results in reduction of intraocular pressure. This medicinal drug is highly active in nature which may cause nausea, vomiting, bronchospasm, hypotension, bradycardia and abdominal cramps. It has a chemical formula of C6H15ClN2O2 with molecular weight approximately equal to 182.65 grams per mol.
